A rare example of an elaborately carved Victorian mantel clock. The solid walnut case, that has been hand rubbed to an antique finish, is decorated with fine burr veneers and solid walnut carvings with a draw to the front for storing the winding key.
The Montrose mantel clock has a triple chime movement with an 11 jewel platform escapement that can be set to play Whittington, St Michael or Westminster melodies and an automatic night silencer, chime sequencer and beat setting.
This staturesque piece of Victoriana requires a deep mantel shelf, as it is 6.25 inches deep, or to be displayed on a table or sideboard.
