The Greenwich Wall Regulator - mahogany - 4ft 10in
The Greenwich wall regulator is the largest and most exquisite in our collection of wall regulators by Comitti of London and named to celebrate the Greenwich Meridian in London, from where the world's time is defined (GMT). The Palladian style case, popular in London circa 1820, is solid mahogany decorated with the finest curl book matched veneers and boxwood inlay - hand rubbed and waxed to achieve an antique patina. The 8 day Westminster chime movement is weight driven and has an automatic night silencer (stops the chime & strike from 11pm to 7am), a manual silencer (if you don't want the clock to chime or strike) and chime sequence correction. The enamel finish dial features delicate milled hands, a seconds indicator and a solid brass bezel. The cabinet, which has a hidden key compartment, is fully glazed with bevilled glass and all the fittings are solid brass that have been lacquered to prevent tarnishing.
