The Empire Floor Clock - mahogany - 7ft 10in
The Empire is a chippendale floor clock in the style of David Rittenhouse of Philadelphia, circa 1780. It is without doubt a very impressive clock standing some 7' 10" tall. The solid mahogany case is decorated with curl veneers and intricate carvings, all with a hand rubbed antique finish. The Empire is fitted with a Cathedral sound 9 tube triple chime movement, with 12 jewels and 24 bronze bushings. The movement also has an automatic night silencer (10pm - 7am), chime sequencer and beat setting. The face of the clock has a brass dial with gold plated fretwork, a silver plated chapter ring, milled hands with a hand painted moon dial to the top that displays the phases of the moon. The glazed windows on the sides and front of the trunk allow you to see the pendulum, weights and Cathedral tubes.
The price shown for the Empire Floor Clock includes delivery and installation on mainland Britain, a 2 year guarantee and the benefit of our Lifetime Support promise. If you would like more information, to confirm availability or arrange a tour of the workshop please contact us
