A charming silver & enamel model of a Penguin with its young baby chick between it's feet. At this stage it is likely to be the mother looking after the chick. However it is the father penguin who keeps the egg warm in a special brood pouch for 2 months standing on the frozen ice of Antarctica after the mother has laid her single egg. Once the chick has hatched the mother returns and takes over allowing the father to go fishing and replace his much depleted energy reserves.
