Regency Style Banjo Barometer 8"dial - yew
A Regency style "Banjo" barometer with a scroll pediment, circa 1830, with a large 8" dial. It has a solid hardwood case, which has been decorated with yew veneer and an ebonised edgeline. The 8" silver effect dial, calibrated in inches and millibars, is driven by a temperature compensated precision aneroid movement. It has a spirit thermometer with both a C & F scale, an Hygrometer, convex mirror and spirit level. The glass is bevelled and the fittings are of lacquered brass.
A wooden barometer of outstanding quality finished with increasingly popular yew veneer that would add warmth and colour to any home.
